Bower
Bower revolutionizes packaging recycling with its innovative deposit system. Connected businesses mark their packaging, and users utilize the Bower app to scan a code and register returns. This seamless process rewards users with monetary compensation, rebates, or coupons. Available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and the UK, the app boasted over 580,000 users by 2023. These users recycled over 73 million packages, saving more than three million kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions.
Challenge
During my internship at Bower, I was tasked to redesign their entire website to enhance user engagement and clarify their app's benefits. Despite their success and widespread adoption, their existing website did not effectively communicate the simplicity and environmental impact of their packaging deposit system. They needed a new website that would educate and motivate users to participate while showcasing Bower's growth and impact.
Solution
I tackled the challenge by designing a modern, user-centric website for Bower, focusing on creating a clear and intuitive user experience that guides visitors through the process of how Bower works. Emphasizing user testimonials, statistics on environmental impact, and a straightforward registration process, the new website effectively communicates the benefits of using Bower's app. A responsive design was implemented to ensure seamless access across devices and optimized the site for speed and accessibility. Through the redesign, Bower now has a visually appealing and informative website that engages users and reinforces its position as a leader in sustainable packaging solutions. The new design aligns with Bower's mission to incentivize recycling and reduce carbon footprints, encouraging more individuals and businesses to join their movement.
